Choosing Wisely Campaign
Choosing Wisely® is a national initiative that aims to spark patient-physician conversations that empower patients to choose the best care. To aid these conversations, national medical societies partnered with Consumer Reports to develop lists of “Things Physicians and Patients Should Question.”
These patient-friendly lists contain evidence-based recommendations on common but often unnecessary tests and procedures that physicians and patients should talk about.
Fertility tests you should question
A proud partner of the Choosing Wisely campaign, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) developed a list of common infertility evaluation tests that patients and physicians should question before ordering.
Each recommendation includes a short explanation of its evidence and reasoning, as well as references. Our very own Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center physicians have contributed to this list.
We encourage you to read the ASRM’s recommended questions for your fertility specialist and talk to us if have any questions or concerns.
